Croydex Rubagrip Bath Mat - White - Large - 900 x 370mm

I've had these twice before, and like them very much. But please advise what treatment to use to help prevent mould forming on them. I hang mine up to allow air to circulate as freely round it as possible, but eventually the mould comes anyway. I have used Dettol anti mould spray, and Viakal, but do either of these damage the rubber? My last one began to split, and I wanted to mend it with some kind of liquid rubber solution, but Robert Dyas told me there was no such thing, and that it would contravene health and safety regulations, I'm not sure why! Thank you.
